A Trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop

It's been a tradition to treat each of our grandchildren to a chance to build a stuffed animal at Build-a-Bear Workshop.  We realized our two littlest ones hadn't had a chance to get their stuffed animals, so a trip to the store was in order...

Our little guy doesn't know quite what to think...

so big sister is close at hand to help out...

and gives the doggie a bath...

Meanwhile, little miss knows exactly what to do...

gives her bear a bath...

 so cute!!!

My Favorite Things - Our Favorite Park

I love this Park.  It is especially beautiful in the spring when the apple trees are blooming.  This year we didn't make it there until May - a few apple trees were still blooming.  It's so much fun to capture pictures of the kiddos...

Slip-N-Slide

I was so fortunate this year to be with ALL of my grand-children on Mother's Day eventhough I couldn't be with all my children.  My daughter from Kentucky & her 2 kiddos were visiting and we had a BBQ at my local daughter's house.  The kiddos had a chance to enjoy the warm weather & play on the new Slip-n-Slide.

Our little sweetie tests the water...

All the kiddos have a go at it...

Oh, what fun!!

The Karate Kid

On May 5, my 8-year-old grandson tested for his high red belt in karate.  This is one step away from the coveted black belt.  Here are the pictures...

He is the center one in the back row...

He is the one on the left in this picture...

And here he is on the right...

Here he is sparring on the right...

And in this picture he is on the left.

Gymnastics

When I was in Louisville, KY, I had a chance to watch my 4-year-old grand-daughter's gymnastics class.  The gym is absolutely amazing and I was impressed with the individualized attention that was given to each kiddo.

My grand-daughter, the leader of the pack...

Getting help on the uneven parallel bars...

Learning the handstand...

Hopping...

So cute on the balance beam.

Sweet Birthday Girl

Our sweet little grand-daughter had her party for her second birthday yesterday.

We gave her a remote control My Little Pony airplane...

She has 3 older sisters and an older brother as well as a tiny baby sister...

Her 3 1/2 year sister really likes it and suddenly is WAY more interested in playing with her now.

So Sad...

All my grandchildren have been sick.  Last week my sweet little grandson in Kentucky had the 24 hour bug and this week his sister had it.  Meanwhile, at the beginning of this week, 2 of my grand-daughters here were sick with high fevers and lethargy.  Their 2 little sisters just had colds.  Yesterday & today, their brother has been sick and tonight he was supposed to test for karate taekwondo.  It has been so fun following his progress.  It is such a disappointment for all of us that he is sick.

Here's my little ninja...this was his Halloween costume...

Twirling...

Remember the movie "You've Got Mail"...one of Meg Ryan's character's favorite memories was "twirling" as a child (although, I think she twirled with her mother)...

Today I visited my oldest daughter and her children.  Her 4 girls were "twirling".   It reminded me of that movie...

Trunk or Treating Pics

Halloween is so different nowadays.  I had never heard of trunk-or-treating until a few years ago, but when you think about it, it is a lot safer!  This was a great year for kiddos since Halloween fell on a Sunday.  There were lots of things happening around town on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Here are my two Kentucky darlings in their Halloween attire.  The Biker and the Princess...

I've decided that I will try to keep my grandchildren anonymous on my blog.  I don't want their pictures to turn up on a semi in some faraway country...(maybe that was an urban legend).

The Loves of My Life...

I've decided to periodically post pictures of the loves of my life.  Here is my oldest grand daughter.  I love this picture!!  It was taken by her mother, my oldest daughter.

A horse is a horse, of course...

My middle daughter lives in Kentucky with her husband and 2 children.  Kentucky is 1200 miles away from where I live.  She and her husband moved there five years ago, shortly after they were married, so he could attend seminary there.  He graduated in May and last month they bought a house.  I am extremely happy for them.  I am not so happy for me.  We do get to visit them a couple times a year and they come back home for Christmas.  They are very blessed to have a wonderful church home and lots of friends in Kentucky.  Yesterday the kiddos had a chance to ride a horse which belongs to some of their friends...I am soooo jealous (because I have always wanted a horse)...

Even mom had a chance to ride (picture taken by a 3-year-old)

Soooo cute!!!!
